My Story

I'm excited to take on the RSPB's Early Bird Challenge this spring! Come April, I'll be winding back my alarm, getting outside early and walking or running 73km over a month. My plan is to get them done before 8am, with a few sunrises thrown in for fun.  If you know me, you'll know that I'm not a morning person so this challenge is harder than it sounds. Nuis is also quite lazy (50% border collie, 50% couch potato), so we will both find it tough. 

Why 73km? Because right now, 73 UK bird species are at risk of extinction. Birds like Puffins, whose numbers could fall by an unthinkable 90% by 2050. Birds like summer Swifts that are struggling more and more to find safe nesting spots. Birds like House Sparrows, Cuckoos and wetland Curlews.
